Barry Wilson
Haisla Artist

Barry was born to Wilfred & Beatrice Wilson on May 22, 1952. He was born at Kitamat, B.C. He graduated from Carson Graham Secondary School in 1973. He later attended Langara Campus from 1973 to 1975 taking arts in merchandising. He began his carving career at the young age of nine. Barry credits his uncle, Henry Robinson for teaching and inspiring him to become an artist. He also credits himself for learning how to carve silver 7 gold. He began carving in silver & gold in 1976. Barry carves ivory, bone, mountain goat horn, sheep horn, & stone. He also is a traditional drum maker. Barry is married to Virginia Wilson & has Five Daughters.
