Donnie is from the Haida First Nations Territories. Donnie Edenshaw has been an artist since the age of 10, his training began while watching his father, Haida artist Cooper Wilson. It started with him creating simple sketches of his father’s Argillite pieces. Once he became familiar with the forms, he moved onto carving. He training was watching his father, and then later he participated in Christian White’s apprenticeship program. After mastering Argillite he moved his artistic expression onto carving wood and ivory, and then to gold and silver jewelry. Donnie works in argillite, wood, silver and gold. Eric is from the Haida First Nations Territories. Eric was born in Prince Rupert, BC, November 6, 1961, and is a member of the Masset Band. His family clan is the Frog and his crest is the Eagle. Since 1985, Eric has been living and working in Vancouver. Primarily a self-taught artist, Eric has been painting since 2002. Recently, he has added print-making to his body of work. Citing Robert Davidson and Bill Reid as two of his influences, Eric has also taken inspiration from his culture as a whole. As a young boy, he spent his time with other artists, and was introduced to the artistic world when he used to help artists from his community sell their argillite pendants. Mike is from the Nisga'a, Tlingit, Tsimshian First Nations Territories. Michael has apprenticed under his uncle, Randy Adams of Prince Rupert, as well as with David Boxley, who is an Alaskan Tsimshian artist. Michael was a member of the Tsimshian Hauyuuk Dancers and now belongs to the Get Hayetsk Dancers. He studied oral history and protocol from his grandmother Louise Baiton-Dangeli and has created a program called the "House of Culture" which offers classes and workshops. In 2008, Mike had his first solo exhibition called 'Traditionally Contemporary: The Art of Mike Dangeli' at the Copper Wolf Gallery in Vancouver. Ryan is from the Namgis First Nations Territories. Ryan Cranmer has grown up within a family of artists. The Hunt family of Fort Rupert includes a number of master artists that have been instrumental in the renaissance of Northwest Coast art and culture and his uncle, Doug Cranmer, is a renowned carver from Alert Bay. Fort Rupert, Alert Bay, and Kingcome Inlet are all artistic centres with a strong dedication to the preservation of their culture. Ryan began copying and designing in Northwest Coast styles from a very early age. He attended summer school art programs while in public school to further his interest in a career in the arts. His first mentor was Barry Scow, an artist from the Kwicksutaineuk Band of Gilford Island now living in Vancouver. He has also studied with Wayne Alfred of the Namgis Band of Alert Bay.
