You're Guide to Worldwide Shipping at House of Himwitsa Gallery
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things you need to know:
* Shipping is not included when purchasing any products through our online gallery. You are just paying for the item you have purchased shipping will be billed separately. When you check out you have only one option to pay and that is through Pay Pal. Once you have completed your transaction Pay Pal will not release your credit card information to anyone not even us the House of Himwitsa. Therefore we have to contact you after we have received your order to get a credit card for the shipping.
We have no way of calculating the shipping cost due to the
wide variety product we have. All shipments are based on weight or dimensional
weight (whichever is greater) and destination which means that prices will
vary accordingly.
If we ship Canada Post your card will be billed on the day we ship out the
package. We will ship the package out then have the exact amount from Canada
Post to charge to your credit card.
If we ship UPS your card will not be billed until we receive the bill from UPS which is at the end of each month. This way you are charged the exact amount UPS has charged us.
Please feel free to contact us Toll Free within Canada / USA 1-800-899-1947 or 1-250-725-2017 if you have any further questions in regards to our shipping policy.
When can I expect to receive my package?
* Make sure you choose the right shipping option that fits your time schedule. The faster the service, the higher the price. Please allow up to 5 business days for House of Himwitsa to package the item.
Will I Have to pay Canadian Taxes?
* Any artwork shipped outside of Canada is Provincial Service Tax (7%) and Government Service Tax (7%) tax exempt.
* Any artwork shipped outside of British Columbia, but within Canada is only Provincial Service Tax (7%) tax exempt the Government Service Tax of (7%) still applies.
* Any original Native art shipped outside of Canada to the United States is usually considered DUTY FREE!
As well, there may be additional state taxes to be paid depending on where
you live ( see below regarding "CUSTOMS " ), please check with your
local authorities. Himwitsa is not responsible for collecting or paying these
additional fees.
Customs - how is my order affected?
Depending on where you live, your purchase may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any additional charges are to be paid by you as Himwitsa does not have any control over these charges and cannot determine how much will be charge. For further information, please contact your local customs office for specific details on what you can expect in your own country.
What if I purchase a very large item?
We will ship any item on our web site all over the world. Costs will vary depending upon size and destination of package. There is no additional cost for the crate to be built. Crates will be built for large masks, totems, bent wood boxes and large soapstone pieces.
Is every item you carry always available?
We do our utmost to ensure that all one-of-a-kind pieces are removed from our web site when sold at our shop or on-line. However, there can be the occasion when an item is not immediately removed upon sale, and we will have to confirm whether the item is still available. If a stocked item, such as clothing, matted prints, etc., is not available at the time you place your order, we can make a request to have the item ordered and shipped to Himwitsa, then it will be shipped directly to you from us.
Do I have to be at home when the package arrives?
When, where, and how a package is delivered is at the discretion of the shipping company and may require your signature.
Please ensure that you make alternate arrangements to receive shipments if you will not be home. We can provide a tracking number to you upon request, if a tracking number is available.
What else do I need to know?
Christmas orders should be submitted no later than December 10th to ensure a timely delivery, otherwise there is no guarantee that the package will arrive before December 25th. Special custom jewellery orders for the holiday season must be submitted to Himwitsa no later than November 15th as it may take up to 2 to 4 weeks for jewellery to be crated depending how busy the artists are. Himwitsa is not liable for any delays outside of their control during the busy holiday season.
All items are packaged carefully to ensure they arrive safely and in their original condition.
The original receipt will be mailed separately only if requested. If you are sending the package as a gift or if you have provided a different billing address, the receipt will be mailed to your billing address again oly if requested.
The receipt for the shipping will also be mailed separately. This is because if we ship via UPS we do not receive the bill immediately we usually get invoiced at the end of each month. We also have to ship all receipts from Canada Post separately as well again oly if requested.
Any information on artist biographies, etc., will be included whenever available. If by chance we do not have a biography on hand we will take your information down and mail you one when one gets printed up.
Please keep in mind that House of Himwitsa Native Art Gallery is a relatively small family-owned company and, as such, is striving to provide the best quality service at a fair price. We cannot be compared to larger organizations that can take advantage of bulk discounting or fully staffed shipping departments. We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter.
Until we ship the item we can only give you an approximate estimate on the shipping amount. Once we get the bill from either Canada Post or UPS then we will know the exact amount and only then will we charge that amount to your credit card. This way you are not being overcharged and we the Himwitsa are not being undercharged.
What if I wish to return an item?
Within 30 days, you can return your purchase for an exchange for another item. We can provide a credit towards another purchase for now, or for the future purchase in the form of a Himwitsa gift certificate that is valid for one full year.
We cannot except items returned after 30 days no exceptions.
Here's how to return the item:
1. Any item must be returned by mail service, and not by a courier service.
2. On the declaration (shipping) form, please write " Item returned for exchange" so it will easily pass through Customs.
3. For the "value" of the package, please write "No value" or "$0.00".
